Kings Head Cafe sits on Bridge Street in Blyth, offering a warm and inviting spot that blends a local café vibe with a slice of community life. Housed in a beautifully maintained period building, it feels like a comfortable retreat whether you’re popping in for a quick coffee or settling down for a leisurely breakfast.

The atmosphere is quietly bustling yet cozy, with touches like an open fire and homey chairs that make it easy to linger. The layout can be a little intimate, with tables placed fairly close together, which adds to the informal, lived-in charm but might feel a bit snug during busy times.

Locals seem to appreciate Kings Head as both a practical stop—perfect for a post-dog walk coffee or a satisfying mid-morning meal—and a friendly meeting point where staff recognize you and service feels genuine. The menu reflects care in ingredients and preparation, particularly evident in the breakfast offerings and reliably tasty grilled cheese sandwiches. They also cater well to varied diets, with vegan cakes that rotate weekly and a good range of coffee options, including oat milk and an impressive variety of syrups.

Daytime visits, especially mid-morning or early afternoon, come recommended to enjoy the natural light filtering through the space and to avoid the busiest crowd. The café welcomes a mix of visitors: from couples exploring Blyth on foot, to locals grabbing a quick bite, to those who treat the café as a regular stop on their daily routine.

All in all, King’s Head is a community-rooted café that rewards visitors looking for a reliable, well-cooked breakfast or a strong coffee in a relaxed, unpretentious setting with subtle historical character and friendly faces.

Me and the partner decided to have a walk around Blyth and stumbled upon this gem. The Gallery is free for all visitors in which you can even build your own little city. Food was lovely, generous portions and lovely staff. Chairs made me feel like I was right at home, will be back.

Stumbled upon this lovely cafe the other day and had a very good experience. Ordered a coffee and breakfast. Honestly one of the nicest breakfasts I have had in a long time. They do not use the normal cheap sausage and bacon you can tell that they use the premium ingredients and the chef knows how to cook. The customer service was amazing also and I felt very comfortable and cosy during my time here. I definitely recommend and will be back before you know it.

Little hidden gem in Blyth, the most amazing cheese toasties and loads of different coffee options, I've never seen so many syrups! Service good and friendly, only criticism is some of the tables felt quite close together but otherwise nice cosy interior

Beautifully maintained building both outside and in. Received a friendly warm welcome when we walked in. Coffee is delicious and oat milk is available. They also serve some vegan options and cakes. Loads of period features make this cafe so inviting as well as the friendly service. I'm looking forward to my next visit as I understand the vegan cake variety changes weekly.

Lovely coffee and delicious coffee cake. Relaxed setting with games and quizzes to entertain you while you dine. The cafe has preserved the pub style which makes it quirky. What I loved most though was the pop-punk 00s playlist - nowhere plays this music anymore!

Stopped here while touring on our Ebikes. What a wonderful cafe. Lovely surroundings inside, cosy, excellent coffee. I had the English breakfast which was perfection. Highly recommended.

Met up with good friends for breakfast. The full English was excellent with top quality sausage and bacon from a local butcher - The home made hash brown was the best I’ve tasted and the presentation and service of the food was top notch (my wife had the grilled cheese sandwich and loved it). The coffee was very good and I was persuaded to try the home made cake (chocolate & cherry with frosting). which was very tasty. I will be back to try more from the menu.
